BUSZ-CZAT

Purpose

The BUSZ-CZAT remote control system is a modern remote control and dispatcher supervision system, used in places where it is necessary to gather information from territorially scattered objects and to control vast organization and technical structures. Unlike SCADA systems universally used in professional energetics, the BUSZ-CZAT systems solves problems connected with the use of direct current, so it is suitable especially for electric traction power supply systems.

The BUSZ-CZAT system provides for full control and supervision over the operation of devices in traction substations, being the basic element of the electric traction power supply systems of trains or trams. At the same time it enables interaction with remote control subsystems, especially with section cabin dependencies system and disconnectors control systems on the traction network and medium voltage lines of not traction needs. The applications of the BUSZ-CZAT system enable getting significant financial savings, increasing the work safety and shortening the time of interferrences in the power supply.

Apart from basic functions connected with the remote control, the BUSZ-CZAT system enables performing additional tasks. One of them is passpotization of the operated devices together with marking any events connected with these devices. This allows to get the optimalization in the scope of planning maintenance and repair works, purchase of spare parts and current operation. Another task is monitoring the counters on the traction substations in order to optimalize the energy purchase on the market.

Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art electronic technologies and unique solutions developed by our company, the BUSZ-CZAT system is characterized by an unusual flexibility. It enables service of both small structures consisting of few objects, and huge systems consisting of more than a hundred objects scattered over an area of more than a hundred kilometres. The system provides also for service of various transmission media, from copper teletechnic cables to optic-fibre routes, and thanks to a unit structure it enables flexible adapting to the user's operation needs. Thanks to the use of a modern microprocessor technique, and especially optoelectronics, we get a high level of operation devices reliability, an increase of dispatcher's efficiency and operation safety.

The BUSZ-CZAT system is a continuation of previous systems produced by our company (BUSZ-Hz, BUSZ-UM, BUSZ-32) and is integrated with the newest product of our company - the CZAT 3000plus controller.

Versions of the system

The BUSZ-CZAT remote control system offered by our company occurs in three basic versions:
  • BUSZ for RAILWAY ENERGETICS
  • BUSZ for TRAM ENERGETICS
  • BUSZ for RAILWAY TRAFFIC CONTROL

Since the beginning of its existence the BUSZ system has been aimed at operating electric traction power supply devices. The use of modern technologies and a very high work reliability of the system have resulted in our decision to expand our offer with BUSZ-SRK - a version of the BUSZ system intended for operating the railway traffic control devices.

Architecture and configuration

The system offered by us consists of a few independent subsystems, which interact with each other and create a homogenous and complex system of railway and tram electroenergetics devices operation:
  • the BUSZ-CZAT remote control system (superior)
  • the UPK-CZAT fast disconnectors electronic dependencies system
  • the KSO-CZAT disconnectors cable control on the traction network system
  • the RSO-CZAT disconnectors control on a non-traction line system

The above mentioned subsystems have independent data transmission channels and blocks, microprocessor devices and software. The BUSZ-CZAT remote control system has a two-level structure and consists of the following elements:

  • computer devices in the central control station (remote control centre)
  • remote control object cabinets in the controlled objects:
  • PT traction substations
  • SO disconnector stations
  • ST transformer stations

Devices in the field are based on universal CZAT 3000plus controllers produced by us. Programming the controllers is done with the use of LOGIKA PLUS program (also produced by us). The CZAT 3000plus controllers have been for years widely popular in railway and tram energetics. They also have proper tests and certificates. On the basis of these controllers, among others, a complex system of traction automatics SAT-CZAT offered by our company is based. Using the same controllers in a number of subsystems significantly simplifies the service and lowers its costs. The CZAT 3000plus controllers used for remote control can be in the future used for modernizing secondary circuits of the traction substations. The solutions offered by our company enable an optimal usage of the works done, without the necessity of disassembling unnecessary elements of remote control during the future modernizations of objects and devices.

Basic functions of the system

The remote control system offered by us provides for controlling and supervision of devices in traction substations, section cabins and other objects included in the remote control (disconnector and transformer stations). This allows for eliminating the permanent staff of the traction substations. Dispatchers receive information on the devices operation, regarding mostly:

  • the state of connectors' position
  • intereferences of the devices' operation
  • the devices operation mode
  • telemeasures
  • events which occurred in the objects (fire, burglary, legal entry)

The gathered information about the state of devices operation is presented to the dispatcher on a monitor screen and a synoptic table. It is archived together with parametres regarding its time and place. All the dispatcher's actions are also registered. The archivization of events occurring in the system enables carrying out various analyses, which is especially useful during after-failure investigations

Equipment of the remote control centre

The remote control centre (the central control station) is equipped with electronic devices, which enable communication, remote control and supervision over objects in the field. The devices making up the equipment of the central control station are:

  • industry computers cabinet (main computer, communication computer and databases)
  • dispatcher terminals with three-monitor depicting set
  • diagnostic and servising terminal
  • light plan (spot synoptic table or graphic wall)
  • teletransmission devices
  • peripheral devices (talks registrator, printer, fax machine)
  • power supply devices

Devices on the traction substations

For years of experience the Elester-PKP company has become specialized in making prototype tasks in the scope of construction and modernization of traction substations, at the same time adapting them to remote control and unmanned operation. Modernizations and conversions of objects are made in a continuous motion with the operating devices, without the need of long breaks in power supply, and, what is connected with it, without interferences in the train traffic. This significantly lowers the operation costs, without causing an increased load of neigbouring traction substations. Depending on the investors needs and financial capacity, we offer three versions of the traction substations remote control:

  • centralized system
  • partly dispersed system
  • system based totally on dispersed automatics

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that over a half of traction substations operating in the PKP network is covered with the remote control system produced and implemented by our company. The trust of such a big contractor as "PKP Energetyka" explicitly proves the uniqueness of our solutions.

Compliance with standards and certificates

The devices and systems produced by us are characterised by the highest quality. It is guaranteed by the quality management system ISO 9001 used in our company since 1997 (since 2003 version ISO 9001:2000). The quality of our products and services is guaranteed moreover by the huge experience our company has in the scope of construction and operating remote control systems of devices for electrotraction power supply.
Universal microprocessor controllers CZAT 3000plus have certificate of being fit for use issued by the Office of Railway Transport and CE certificates confirming their electromagnetic compatibility.
What is more, we inform that all the elements of the remote control system offered by us use transmission protocoles complying with "Guidelines for construction and operation of remote control systems for devices of electroenergetic power supply" (version 2.3). These guidelines were developed by CNTK and are the current standard of "PKP Energetyka" Sp. z o.o.
