In the years 2007-2008 Łódź department of PKP Energetyka called for tenders for the construction of three substations 110/15kV: RPZ Kutno, RPZ Niewiadów, RPZ Łódź Olechów. The works on the substations Łódź Olechów came to an end and the object was handed down to the investor.

The general executive of the Project were Elester-PKP and Elektrobudowa. The construction of the power supply point Łódź Olechów was implemented in the ‘design and build’ system. The investment started in 2008 and involved preparing the design of the station, the 110kV Power Line, building the facility, installation of the equipment, setting the pole and the execution of 110kV tap line together with a remote system Control. The New facility will supply the Łódź Special Economic Zone with Dell Computers factory as well as two heavily loaded traction substations Widzew and Olechów. The traction substation Łódź Widzew supplies railway line Łódź-Warsaw, while Łódź Olechów deals with large marshalling yard and container terminal.
